Preface Investments Fourth Edition irtcludes three different computer programs and data sources that this Manual describes. These resources are: STUDY!, Investmaster, and REALDATA. Together, these three programs can dramatically improve your learning experience. Before you can use these programs, you must follow the installation instructions in the next section. The remainder of this preface briefly describes each chapter of this manual. Consult the relevant chapter for detailed instructions on using the software. Software Installation The software that accompanies Investments Fourth Edition is delivered in a highly compressed form. You must install the software before it can be used. The next section provides the installation instructions. Installation to a hard disk should take less than five minutes. STUDY! STUDY! is a self-testing and review program. The program allows you to select any combination of chapters from Investments. The program utilizes a data bank of multiple-choice questions from these chapters and presents them to you one by one for your solution. After you indicate your solution, the program determines if your answer is correct and updates your score. If you make a mistake, the program reveals the correct answer and updates your score. You can use this program to review for a test or merely to check your understanding of each chapter as you work through the text.
