Is God Trying to Save
the World Now?
DOES traditional Christianity have any realis-
tic hope of ever "saving" the world?
The population of China now comprises
nearly one fourth of the earth's population—over one
billion human beings.
Yet far less than one percent of them believe in any form
of Christianity. India's population now totals nearly one
seventh of the earth's population. Yet fewer than 30 million
are nominally Christians. The situation is similar in Japan,
with a population of more than 120 million; and Indonesia
with 175 million.
Then there is the Arab world and Black Africa. These
areas have a combined population of well over 600 million,
but only 215 million are nominal Christians.
Get the point?
The vast majority of human beings have never belonged
to any form of Christianity. It remains that way to this very
day. But, according to Christian teachings, humans are made
in the image of God. All human beings should be treated
fairly and given an equal opportunity for eternal life.
The Bible itself says: "For there is no respect of persons
with God" (Rom. 2:11).
