IV. Conferentia Hungarica pro therapia et investigatione in pharmacologia [antikvár]

The Fourth Hungárián Conference on Therapy and Pharmacological Research, sponsored by an outstanding institution of the Hungárián Academy of Sciences, the Hungárián Pharmacological Society, was held in Budapest in the early October 1966. Following the traditions of the past years' conferences, a great number of scientists convened from home and abroad to attend the meeting. The latest results of experimentál and elinical pharmacological research were exposed in nearly 100 lectures. Their subject met with considerable interest and their high level was proved by the liveliness of the discussions. The reports and lectures concentrated on the most important fields of action of drugs and reflected well the most ponderous questions of the current pharmaceutieaJ research. A great number of lectures affected the pharmacology of the central nervous system and the circulation. With regard to the burning problem of malignancies in our times, a particular symposium was arranged for discussing the cytostatic agents. Here the latest achievements of pharmacological and clinico-pharmacological investigations were reported. I had the impression that at the Conference mucii of valuable scientific information was interchanged which obviously brings forth the solution of somé major problems facing the pharmaceutical research. The Board of Conference prompted by the success of it feels obliged to do its best for raising to a still higher standard the next meeting ancl giving so chance the participants to return afresh to their laboratory with an equipment of useful scientific news. With this concept borne in mind, we are publishing now the submitted manuscripts of lectures delivered at the Fourth Hungárián Conference on Therapy and Pharmacological Research. Finally, on behalf of the Board of Conference I wish to express my sincere thanks both the autliors and contributors to the discussions, as well as all of the participants.
