Dick King-Smith's Lady Lollipopis a sneakily sassy fairytale about Princess Penelope--a right royal brat of the highest order--and her latest must-have, little pig Lollipop. When asked what she would like for her birthday the Princess Penelope demands she is given a pig, and, as usual, she gets exactly what she wants. But the pompous princess doesn't count on the fact that the little piggy in question has a few tricks up her trotter, and seems to have the startling ability to change people for the better. King-Smith, possibly best known as the creator of Babe (adapted from his bestselling book The Sheep-pig), turns on his talent for observation and gentle humour as he recounts the story of Penelope and her pal as they get to know each other against the odds, leading the reader to the gradual realisation that Lollipop isn't just any old pig.
