I agree," Dr. Stanley said, leaning back in his chair. "Progress in medicine comes so quickly these days that I sometimes think I spend half my time just tr)dng to keep up with new developments."
Ricky was listening with only half an ear. Dr. James Stanley was a pediatrician who had been in private practice in Cascade for several years. Recently he had also joined the staff of the Schlieman Institute, where Rick/s father worked, to do research on children's diseases. This was the first time he had been to the Foster home for dinner. He was tall and thin, younger than Martin Foster, with a funny habit of pinching the tip of his nose when he talked. Ricky thought that what he was saying about medicine was sort of interesting, but not nearly as interesting as the nose pinching.
