EDITORIAL: When we went out of our way to find the time, in spite of a very heavy workload, to attend a conference of great importance to the future of our Hungárián heritage in America and observed that Hungárián representation left a lot to be desired, we were embarrassed and, as the day progressed towards a constructive conclusion, we couldn't help getting "hot-under-the-collar" as you will see on Page 2 NEWS NUGGETS: For this issue, we've increased the number of pages used in order to inform you about the Hungárián Room at Wayne State University, the scholarship opportunity being offered by Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and, in particular, about the conference at Rutgers University, our report of which you will find on Page 8 DATELINE: BUDAPEST: It is incredible how many cultural events, conferences, exhibitions, theatrical productions, fairs, concerts, etc. will be held in Hungary this spring and on through the fali. You'll find a partial list of cultural happenings on Page 11 HUNGÁRIÁN PROFILES: We selected Géza Piszéi for profiling this month not only because he happens to be an unusual achiever, but alsó because he, with the endorsement of this magaziné, may head up a major musical project that will include the participation of American and Canadian-Hungarian musicians. See his profilé on Page 12 THE HUNGÁRIÁN TRAVELER: When our Harry G. Ladanye visited Mohács, the "Graveyard of Hungárián Glory", as a member of our 1985 Historical Tour of Hungary, he was so moved by what he saw that tears filled his eyes. Although they've dried up by now, you'll sense what he felt when you read Part Six of his "My Historical Tour of Hungary" on Page 16 FEATURE-OF-THE-MONTH: The Gypsy fiddlers of Hungary have not only "bribed the Hungárián soul", as Endre Haraszti writes, but they have alsó become as Hungárián in the process as goulash. You'll find this well-known Hungárián historian's article about the Gypsy "Primas" of Hungary on Page 21 HUNGÁRIÁN FOLK MUSIC: To commemorate Mother's Day this month, we decided to publish a song made famous by the late Steve Csonka when he was the vocalist for the Kara-Nemeth Orchestra of New Brunswick, New Jersey.
