John Noble
John grew up in the cool, green valley of the River Ribble, England. He escaped intermittently from a career in newspaper journalism by taking lengthy trips around Europe, North and Central America and Southeast Asia, before Lonely Planet answered his call and sent him to update their guide to Sri Lanka, where he met his wife and co-author Susan Forsyth. Since then John has co-authored four editions of Mexico for Lonely Planet and one each of Spain, Australia, Indonesia, USSR, Baltic States, Central Asia and Russia, Ukraine Belarus. John and Susan and their children Isabella and Jack (also experienced Mexico travelers) now live in southern Spain.
Wayne Bernhardson
Bom in Fargo, North Dakota, Wayne Bernhardson grew up in Tacoma, Washington, and earned a PhD in geography at the University of California, Berkeley. He has traveled widely in Latin America and lived for extended periods on Chile, Argentina and the Falkland (Malvinas) Islands. His other LP credits include Argentina, Uruguay Paraguay, Buenos Aires, Chile Easter Island, South America and Rocky Mountains. Wayne resides in Oakland, California, with his affectionate Alaskan malamute, Gardel.
Tom Brosnahan .
Tom was born and raised in Pennsylvania, went to college in Boston, then set out on the road. After traveling in Europe he joined the Peace Corps, and saw Mexico for the first time as part of the Peace Corps training program. A short term of teaching English in a Mexico City school whetted his appetite for more exploration. After graduate school he traveled throughout Mexico, Guatemala and Belize writing travel articles and guidebooks for various publishers, and in the past two decades his 20 books covering numerous destinations have sold over 2 million copies in 12 languages. For Lonely Planet, Tom has worked on Turkey, Guatemala, Belize Yucatan - La Ruta Maya, Central America, Mediterranean Europe, and New England.
Scott Doggett
Scott's interest in Latin America became personal when, in 1983, as a recent graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, he packed up his cameras and moved to El Salvador. His initial career as a photojoumalist was followed by postgraduate study at Stanford University, reporting assignments for United Press International in Los Angeles, Pakistan and Afghanistan, and, most recently, seven years on the editorial staff of the Los Angeles Times. During his free time, Scott travels and writes about his adventures for newspapers and magazines. He is an author and co-editor of Travelers' Tales: Brazil. At the time this book went to press, Scott was writing Lonely Planet's guide on Panama.
