Bővebb ismertető
CHAPTER 1
Introduction and Installation
With the Microsoft® FoxPro® for Windows™ Distribution Kit*, you can create and distribute database applications as executable files. Because the Distribution Kit contains a Support Library that you can distribute to your users, they don't need a copy of FoxPro for Windows. You can provide them with everything they need to run your application.
Creating an application for distribution is similar to developing a standard FoxPro application. You do your work in FoxPro for Windows (referred to in this manual as the "development version"), but after you create an .EXE file, you test your applicadon in the runtime environment. You then distribute your application, any related files, and the required FoxPro Support Library file to your distribution sites.
Important Certain features used for development aren't available in the runtime applications you create with the FoxPro for Windows Distribution Kit. These items are listed in "Features Not Available in Runtime Applications" in Chapter 2.
This manual describes:
¦ The Distribution Kit Package Contents and Installation
¦ Developing Applications for Distribution
¦ Creating an .EXE File for Your Application
¦ Creating Your Distribution Disks
¦ Product Support
*Also referred to simply as the Distribution Kit.
