INTRODUCTION Introducing Microsoft Query Welcome to Microsoft® Query for Microsoft Windows"' and Microsoft Query for the Apple® Macintosh®! This section introduces you to Microsoft Query, shows you how to start it, and gives you an action plan for leaming how to use it. Generally, the features in Microsoft Query for the two operating environments are identical. However, when instructions differ, you'll see a qualification such as "In Microsoft Query for Windows" or "In Microsoft Query for the Macintosh." Follow the instructions that apply to your version. Similarly, most of the illustrations in this book apply to both environments; however, for dialóg boxes that list file names, only the Microsoft Windows version of the illustration appears. If you're working with Microsoft Query for the Macintosh, you would see a comparable dialóg box that doesn't use MS®-DOS-type file names. What Is Microsoft Query?
