First Edition 1978 Publisher's Note CHINA, with her long history, has a brilliant ancient eulture created by the people of all her nationalities. The people's government has always taken care of. protected and preserved the unearthed relics of this eulture. China's archaeological workers, guided by Cliairman Mao's revolutionary line, have brought to light group after group of valuable historical objects buried for many centuries. These finds are of scientific importance in the study of ancient society. In conformity with Chairman Mao's teaching, "Make the past serve the present/' they are alsó put to the service of socialist revolution and construction. In 1972 we published the booklet New Archaeological Finds in China, and, in 1973, a revised edition. This second volume contains 16 articles on somé new diseoveries of recent years, dating from the slave society of the Shang Dynasty 3,000 years ago down to the last feudal monarchic dynasty, the Ching.
