JENSEN, Villy Toft: Opposes this and finds the suggestion idealistic. In his opinion the final word list of the basic 4-5 languages should be given to the other national terminological working groups. Until that time it is not worth to make them work. ENNENBACH, Wilhelm: Agrees with Jensen's opinion. P1SHCHULIN, Yuriy Petrovich: He also agrees with Jensen. According to his opinion the five basic languages should be dealt with but this should be published in the most elementary le- xicographic form as the dictionary of the spe- cial terms of the museums which reflects a certain level of development of museum affairs. Not specific expressions have to be omitted as well as generál scientific expressions. He finds the English and French word material problematic, further steps have to be made in this field. He suggests that for the ICOM Ge- neral Assembly a more perfect variant in English, French, Spanish, German, Russian and Hungarian languages should be prepared. AVE, Joachim: He accepts the suggestion of Pishchulin and finds it especially important to include the Spanish word material. He accepts that the Terminological Working Group of the GDR together with the Hungarian colleagues should prepare the final version of the German word material in February or March 1980. STRÁNSK?, Zdenek Zbynek: He finds it ne- cessary to elaborate and compile a methodolo- gical guide and conception. WILDE, Beata: Agreeing with all the above mentioned ideas she suggests to send the cor- rected word materials to the respective termi- nological committees of countries for verification. VADKERTI Zoltán: The selection of the present word material has to be carried out on the ba- sis of a theoretical standpoint. Even if publish- ing in a lexicographic way it nas to be indicated that the form of the final publication has not yet been decided. Line has to be drawn between the work processes of the coming year, ERI István: On the basis of the remarks heard he finds it possible to confirm the German, Russian and Hungarian material, further the Spanish word list remarking that it contains the Spanish special terms uh in Mexico, in case of the English and French special expressions he suggests to ask the I COM-CI DOC Documen- tation Centre for direct and indirect help. Checking the dead-lines he siiggests to form a subcommittee of the experts present to draft the methodological guide headed by dr. Stránsky. (Suggestion accepted. ) After closing the debate in connection with the collection of words he gives the word to the representatives of the Publishing House of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. VEGII Béla: He states that their material pre- sented might be of a too theoretical character but theoretical problems are important. (See N° 8. ) Additionally he stresses that the most important problem is perhaps that of the equivalences. The special terms of all the languages have to be adjusted to one basic language. At the same time we have to strive to establish multilateral equivalences. Meta- phrases have to be omitted by all means and replaced by definitions which can be indicated by typographical means when publishing. It causes a problem that several languages are used beyond the borders of one country. The respective national committees have to indicate the specialities and differences. STRÁNSKf, Zdenek Zbynek: It is a problem that with lexicographic methods we cannot in- dicate the past of museology in the respective countries, thte differences in the museum practice. PISHCHULIN, Yuriy Petrovich: He finds the idea of the Publishing House of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences sufficient, he as well finds its superfluous to give grammatical details. VÉGH Béla: He finds it important to state that the synonyms of the special terms have to be given by the national working groups. In con- nection with the question he remarks that there will be ä possibility to publish the dictionary in alphabetical order indicating the classifica- tion numbers. As the present English and French word material is not sufficient he suggests to use temporarily German as the basic language. ÉRI István: The classification system received a sharp criticism. The scheme published in the second edition of the DM has to be con- sidered as a working hypothesis. It can be proposed that the respective countries should develop their own classification systems and these should be discussed later. PISHCHULIN, Yuriy Petrovich: He accepts the suggestion. It would be advisable that Stránsk/ play an important role in the elaboration of the classification system. STRÁNSKY, Zdenek Zbynek: The system of a discipline and the classification of its terms is not one and the same thing. Museum terms can be grouped without establishing a museo- logical classification. ENNENBACH, Wilhelm: The compilation of the word list and the elaboration of the classifica- tion system can be done in parallel. Until the dead-line in 1980 an alphabetical order is suf- ficient. As the title of the 3rd edition he sug- gests: Museumspezifisches Wörterverzeichnis mit einem Klassifikationsschema. 22. 11.1979 / ERI István: He outlines the draft of the minutes compiled according to the suggestions made in these two days and asks for a debate on it. The final form of the, minutes was prepared according to the remarks heard and the en- closures were defined. (The material was pu- blished in the NEWSLETTER/NOUVELLES 1979/4.)
