No Promises in the Wind This is the United States in 1932. It is a world in which fífteen-year-old Josh Grondowski must make his way. Haggard and beaten men wait beside a factory gate for work that isn't there. Anxious-eyed women wait on breadlines, desperately trying to feed their families. Grinding poverty creates fear and anger, and hopeless rage, where there should be love. It destroyed many homes. This is the powerfül and disturbing story of one such family. What happens when two boys are forced to strike out on their own: What kindness and savagery they met on the road, and how their determined struggle to survive taught them tolerance and tenderness.
