PUFFIN BOOKS
NOTHING TO BE AFRAID OF
Nothing to be Afraid Of may be the title of this book, but nearly ail the stories in the book do have something really rather frightening in them. At least, they are frightening for the characters in the stories, because the horrors which they've imagined simply won't go away: they are the kind of horrors that follow you upstairs in the dark and slide under the bed, and there they stay . . .
The stories are people with strange and cunning characters: young William, who surprises his granny with a gruesome version of a well-known tale; and Arthur, who thinks he knows everything. Add to this a hint of a ghost, a cruelly misunderstood message, and a secret shed - and the result is a brilliant collection of eerie yet witty stories.
