There are the free enterprise efconomies/ such as the economy of the United States of America; centralised economies, such as the economies of the socialist countries; and mixed economies, of which the British economy is perhaps the best example. These alternative solutions to the problems of mankind.in provid^iM qgods and services to satisfy wants aje aTilc'^n one least: that transport is an essen^fal element in each system. Only the most primitive economies can operate without transport. The village cobDl^'of a simple community, having made a pair of shoes for the elder of some family, walks with them to his customer's house and a simple cash transaction.
