PLEASURE TROVE THE SIX SAINTS BRITTANY has been called the Land of Pardons. Even more is it the Land of Saints, for whereas a Pardon is only an annual event, there is a resident saint working full time for every village and every town. It is the Land of Bonnets too, and if you would see them in their greatest numbers, every one of them with a shrewd and wrinkled face beneath it, you must go either to a Pardon or a markét. The Land of Bonnets, the Land of Old Women, the Land of Black Dresses ; the Land, in short, of what are called Decent Bodies. Where the young women are, is a problem. Hidden away, I suppose, in the towns. Primarily, however, it is the Land of Saints, carrying this sanctitude to such an extent that there is even a patron saint of lawyers. It had not occurred to me that those fully armed gentlemen had need to resort to such assistance, but in the cathedral at Tréguier you will find their friend-St. íves or Ivo-in a sumptuous modern i
