Contents Notes This pocket-book contains primarily tables, but map and graphic illustrations also display the information available on the socio-economic processes in regions until the sixth month following the previous year. Certain data are different from those published earlier due to structural or methodological changes or revisions. A significant proportion of year 2008 data is based on infra-annual data collections. The final annual data may be changed. Indices have been calculated at constant prices. The source of data, unless othenwise indicated, is the data collection of the Hungarian Central Statistical Office. Percentages and rates have been calculated on the basis of unrounded figures. Because of roundings, the sum of individual figures may differ from the total. Demographic data and indicators in relation to population refer to resident population. Denominations of economic branches are sometimes cut down owing to lack of space. Status data refer to 31 December unless othenwise noted. The capital and the region including the capital have an outstanding level of development compared to the rest of territorial units of the country, thus regional disparities seem to be higher than what is the actual case. Therefore, tables contain regional data and country totals followed by the values not Including Central Hungary. Symbols - = Non-occurrence. = Not available. 0 = Less than half the unit used.
