ForewordThis book is made of articles on the topics discussed during Les Entretiens Economiques Européens, organized in Paris at the Collége des Bernardins, on November 23-24, 2011, with the Astrid Foundation and Bertelsmann Stiftung on the theme of "Social dialogue and industrial relations to solve the Competitiveness/Solidarity equation. Towards a social markét economy for Europe?"Ali these articles have contributed to the preparation of the debates and have been achieved ahead of the Entretiens. The EEE have been very successful: they gathered 360 participants coming from numerous European countries to discuss with sixty six speakers, corporate players, territories and European institutions. They led to the "Manifesto to promote solidarity and integration within the Eurozone, published in the conclusions of the book, completed by the clever synthesis of the debates prepared by Carole Ulmer.The representatives of the European Commission have agreed to take part in this book. Though their analysis inspired by the pohaes and actions they are implementing and defending when fulfilling their duties, their views do not necessarily represent those oj the European Commission.
