The book you have in your hands is as one of the first bright rays of Ught when the sun comes over the horizon to signal a new day!
The new day is the beginning of the intentional, aggressive application of effective prayer to the growth of the church. True, throughout the decades an implicit acknowledgment of prayer as a fundamental base for not only growth but for the total life of the church in general has been common. But Praying the Price is different. The implicit has now become refreshingly explicit. Stuart Robinson has shown us not only how prayer should relate to church growth, but more importantly how it actually does relate to church growth and how it can relate even more directly.
Understandably, God would have chosen a very special person to write a pioneer book such as this one. The author would need to be an individual personally consumed by prayer and fired by the need to challenge others to move more strongly into effective prayer. Equally important, is that the author be a practising pastor, day in and day out, in personal contact with all the joys and all the pains of real people in real churches. But not any praying pastor could do this well. The author also needs to have professional expertise on theories of church growth which enable one to analyze accurately what one observes.
