Progress in the Management of the Menopause [antikvár]

Foreword Introduction Following the International Menopause Society Meeting in Stockholm in 1993, Sydney was selected as the venue for the 1996 Conference. I was nominated as Chairman of the Scientific Program, and over 3 years our committee designed a scientific program which included world experts in a wide variety of disciplines related to the menopause. We included Pharmaceutical Companies into the official program as well as many branches of medicine which impacted on the health and quality of life of both men and women. The meeting was an outstanding success with 3500 delegates and 700 associates. The venue on Sydney Harbour was a delight for all to see and from the Opening Ceremony in the Opera House to the closing session there was only one common complaint. There were so many excellent programs running concurrenüy that delegates could not get to hear all they wished to attend. To overcome the problem of a surfeit of excellence, most of the invited speakers have submitted their papers for publication and Parthenon Publishing has produced this excellent book so that delegates can now browse through the papers at their leisure. This book is a collection of the finest presentations of the 8th International Menopause Society Conference in Sydney in November 1996, and I am pleased to recommend it to all those who were not in attendance as well as for those who were there. I would like to thank Parthenon Publishing, the hard-working staff who have compiled and published this edition, but mosüy I would like to thank the contributors who have submitted their various chapters.
