To the Teacher There are eight tests in this booklet. Each test covers the work done in one Project. Each test has two parts. Part A tests: -language structures -vocabulary -reading skilis Part B sets the pupils a creative communication task related to the project work they have done. Each part gives a totál possible mark of 100. If pupils do the Part A tests only, the totál for each is a percentage. At the end of the final test you can add up the totals for all the tests and divide by eight to get a final overall percentage for the whole book. If pupils do the Part A and the Part B tests, you should divide the totál for each test by two to get a percentage. At the end of the final test you can add up the totals for all the tests and divide by sixteen to get a final overall percentage for the whole book. The Part A tests are divided into sections. Each section has a certain number of marks. These are given at the end of each section. The Part B tests have a totál possible mark of fitty for content and fifty for correctness. Since the Part B tests are intended to enable the pupils to use the language in creative composition, it is not possible to give any more precise guidance on marking. You should allow approximately forty minutes for each part. The results of the tests should be used in a positive way to help the students in identifying their areas of weakness.
