The electric powar system way suffer partial generator outage or rapidly increasing overload causing poor frequency and voltage deviations. In order to keep the high reliability of tha aystera ir. such r.n emergency, it is necessary to provide possible actions on the ."system ouch as load shedding and thermal-power oysters isolation. In this paper are presented a discussion of load shedding technique and method of thermal-powar system isolation, and proposed an automatic control and protection Bystom which secures the high system reliability.
INTRODUCTION
When emergency outage occurre in a power system, what we need most is to prevent cascade breakdown and to limit service outage. Some measures are taken to secure high system reliability in ease of emergency:
(a) Ample reserve margins in generating capacity
(b) Optimum allocation of spinning reserves
(c) Strengthening the system interconnection
(d) Studies on pov.'er-system structure
(e) Automatic system protection for emergency outage
(f) Rapid restoration of service
In this paper, load shedding and system splitting are discussed together with automatic computer control system for protecting the power system from emergency outage.
