Forward Our Sixth Annual San Francisco Cancer Symposium addressed itself to the fundamentals of radiation therapy-radiation pathology. Lacassagne and Gricouroff's 'Action des radiations ionisantes sur l'organisme' published in 1941 opened the frontiers of clinical radiobiology. This symposium attempted to correlate somé of the more recently available laboratory and clinical information on radiation efifect and tolerance with present day concepts of the time/dose relationship.
