Bővebb ismertető
The prestigious North American literary critic Harold Bloom first came into contact with the Catalan language and literature, as he himself has said, through David Rosenthal's English translations of some of the most important works from this literary tradition. Bloom included six 20th-century Catalan authors in his book The Western Canon (published in English in 1994 and in Catalan in 1995 by the publishers Columna): Carles Riba,J.V. Foix, Merce Rodoreda, Salvador Espriu, Joan Perucho and Pere Gimferrer. In Barcelona in 2002, during his acceptance speech at the awards ceremony of the 14th International Catalonia Prize - which is awarded every year by the autonomous government of this European region - Bloom listed the works by some of these authors and extolled Ramon Llull's thinking.
