INTRODUCTION
Say it in Hebrew makes available to you, in simple usable form, all the words and sentences you need for travel and everyday living in Israel. The English sentences and phrases given are those proven by experience to be the most needed. The translations are idiomatic rather than literal. In order to achieve correct pronunciation, all the Hebrew words are presented in a simple phonetic transcription, explained in the Scheme of Pronunciation on page 11.
SENTENCE STRUaURE

The plan of the book is designed to help you form additional sentences of your own. Thus for the words in square brackets you can substitute the words immediately following (in the same sentence or in the indented entries below). For example, the entry
I forgot [my money] my keys.
provides two sentences: "I forgot my money," and "I forgot my keys." Three sentences are provided by the entry
Here is my [baggage].
-health certificate.
-passport.
