The temple was adorned with a dizzying array of decorations of various colors, and the bright white square table was especially glaring. It was there on top of that square white table placed in the middle of the temple that I began my dialogue once again with the Marshal. This was the eighth time that I've visited the Marshal. Who exactly is the Marshal? And why have I visited him so many times? There are plenty of stories about him, and it all started about 1400 years ago. The Marshal comes from the Jingsi Village, which is one of the many villages located at the foothill of the Wuyi Mountains. He was born in an ordinary pond in the village, and at that time, he was just an ordinary frog. On a particular summer's night, he crawled to land covered in mud, and his body was cut severely by the sharp silver grass. He went through all that trouble to make it to shore, because he wanted to find out what was causing the pond to dry out. The large plot of farmland located right next to the pond was cracking and the crops were withering, because the remaining little pond water was not enough for irrigation. Something needed to be done, or the pond would completely dry out, and the people in the village would lose their livelihood. After his investigation, the Marshal was shocked to find a hole at the dike, which was causing the pond water to leak out. This was the reason why the pond was not able to keep the water in. At that
