I decided to go to the mountains to look for the famous eagles. These birds were very rare. I walked up the long path to the top of the mountain and looked around. It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining and the small, white clouds were rushing across the sky in the wind. While I was watching the clouds, I heard a sudden 'whoosh'! I turnéd round and looked up and there it was: a beautiful eagle. It was flying around in circles. It was gliding on the wind. Wonderful! Then I saw it dive down to the rocks and then swoop up again. It was making a strange crying nőise. At the same time I heard a shout for help. I crawled to the edge of the mountain and looked over. There was a man. He was holding on to a small bush and his feet were hanging in mid-air! Next to him was the eagle's nest. He was trying to steal the eggs. He was an egg thief! The eagle swooped down again to attack the thief and protect her eggs. The man was very frightened. I reached over and stretched out my arm. He grabbed hold of it and I slowly pulled him to safety. When he reached the top, he was shaking and shivering. I helped him down the mountain and straight to the police station. They locked him up. I went back to the mountain and looked for the eagle. She was still flying around her nest but she wasn't crying. She wasn't frightened now. Her eggs were safe!
