The Authors Richard Plunlcett Richard grew up on a farm and vineyard near Avenel, Australia. He's been a stockmarket reporter, rock concert reviewer, farm labourer, subeditor for the Big Issue, and once very briefly had the job of cleaning the mincer at a butchers. He has worked on various Lonely Planet books to the subcontinent, including South India and Bangladesh. Brigitte Eliemor Brigitte spent her school years living in different towns in northwestern Victoria with her schoolteaching parents, before taking off on her journalism career in western Victoria. Punctuated by trips to Europe and Asia, her time in newspapers ended when she felt there was more to life than getting the local angle on every event and opinion. Brigitte became an Australian Volunteer Abroad and lived and worked in Sri Lanka, where life took unexpected twists and turns. She joined Lonely Planet as an editor after returning and is now a managing editor in the Melbourne head office. Verity Campbell A Melbourne-based wnter, Verity jumped at the chance to visit Sri Lanka, after having thoroughly enjoyed extensive solo travels through India and Nepal. She researched and updated the eighth edition of Sri Lanka, and has worked on many other titles for Lonely Planet.
