Introduction The present concept of a Karol Szymanowski albam is one of the many alternatives I considered, ranging from a documentary collection of pictures and memorabilia, through an attempt to illustrate Szymanowski's art by pictorial associations, to film-script biography. Each had something to recommend it, but the final choice was determined by the existence of a series of albums of the PWM-Edition, initiated by one devoted to I. J. Paderewski, The present album is the next in the series.
