The Postman of Livorno
Livorno is a fairly large city with a big port for ships going to Sardinia, and it has a lot of postmen. More than twelve, in fact. The smallest postman was called Grillo. His real name was Angeloni Gino Gottardo, but in postal circles he was known as Trotter. In the city, they called him Grillo which was his grandfather's name.
Grillo was so small that he had never got married, although he did have a fiancée, Angela, who was charming and a good sport. She was a football fan and supporter of Terni City Football Club, which is quite understandable seeing that her father came from Terni— although he wasn't a footballer. But Angela's number one hero was Grillo. She always said to him: "You're the finest postman in the whole of Livorno and the most wonderful postman throughout the region. No one else can carry such heavy mailbags as you. When you have a telegram to deliver, you go so fast that it sometimes' gets there the day before!" She loved him so much that when it rained she
