Bővebb ismertető
Dear Friends, This month we celebrate the lOth anniversary of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hungary. Ten years is a long time in our Iives and we may be too busy to realize how many things have changed during this period. We all lead very intensive lives, we are always in a hurry and we do not notice that sometimes we do need to stop and look back on what we have done, whether we were useful to anyone at all or are we just drifting in time? For this very reason, we dug through thousands of photos in the AmCham office in the past weeks. Looking at these pictures, it becomes more and more noticeable that AmCham's history reflects the history of a young Hungárián democracy By going through this book you will see flashbacks of Hungary's political and economic development. Speakers on our pódium were the ones who shaped the economy in Hungary and sometimes even worldwide as well. We are very proud of having had these opportunities. At AmCham events many of you had a chance to meet Bili Gates of Microsoft, John Reed of Citibank, Cor Boonstra of Philips and many other top CEOs. Besides these programs we have organized other types of events. Let me mention our Gala Balls or sport events. May be the pictures will help you recall what good times we have had. I am particularly proud that every year AmCham is able to show corporate citizenship by organizing charity drives to help less fortunate children. Each year more and more people jóin us and we are able to return more and more to the society where we live. when I joined AmCham, Mr. Mike Shade, our founding president, told me: "We want to have a Chamber. We do not have money, we do not have an office, we do not have computers and we really do not know how a good chamber should run. But it must be done well!" Please see the photos and decide whether all this has really happened to us or whether we are just drifting in time. I thank each of you for your continuous support. Sincerely yours, Péter Fáth Executive Director
