Bővebb ismertető
He won the first contract bridge tournament ever played. Conceivably, he could win the last. Meanwhile, in a distinguished career covering a span of thirty-seven years, he has won the Vanderbilt Cup seven times, played in the famous Culbertson-Lenz Match, won more National Championships—and with more partners—than any other expert, and amassed nearly 10,000 master points. This is almost 2,000 more than whoever is in second place, and was accomplished despite an interlude of six and half years when he was collecting battle stars in the U. S. Navy instead of master points. He is also the author of many excellent texts. His wife, Mary Zita, has 1,000 master points; his older son, Jim, has 5,000 master points; and Jim's wife, Judy, is a new Life Master. All of which makes him the founder of quite a bridge of dynasty.
It is with a sense of much personal pride, and deep respect that I dedicate this book to a great competitor and a great bridge player—MR. OSWALD JACOBY.
