Joanna Trollope is the author of Britannia's Daughters, a study of women in the British Empire, and of several historical novels. The Choir was the first of her hugely acclaimed series of contemporary novels and was followed by A Village Affair, A Passionate Man, The Rector's Wife, The Men and the Girls and A Spanish Lover, all published in Black Swan. Under the name Caroline Harvey she writes romantic period sagas. She was born and lives in Gloucestershire with her husband, the playwright Ian Curteis.
