CHAPTER I
the igloo
"WHY, Flossie, that's good\ It really is a pretty picture."
Nan Bobbsey was looking at a large drawing of an Eskimo igloo which her little sister had made in school that day. It was a very good likeness of a big snow-house with windows of ice.
Freddie stood by, staring at what his twin had made. Suddenly he gave a jump and said, "That gives me an idea." Then he ran out of the room and up the stairs as fast as he could.
"You do like the picture, don't you, Nan?" Flossie asked eagerly.
"Very much."
Nan bent over the dining-room table on which the drawing had been put. The little girl stood close to her elder sister, and traced an outline of the igloo with a fat finger.
"It makes you feel cold just to look at it," Nan continued. "And the snow seems real, Flossie."
"As if you could walk right into the place and start making a snowman," said Flossie. "Anyway, that's what Freddie said."
"What yo'all got there?"
