PREFACE TO THE NEW EDITION In the new edition of this work now published are given two additional plates, in which I have taken the opportunity of showing some rare warblers that have recently visited the British Islands, apparently for the first time. Besides these, are included drawings of various subspecies and racial forms, such as the Willow-Tit, Irish Coal-Tit, Hebridean Song-Thrush, etc., these birds of late years having aroused a good deal of interest among ornithologists.
