PREFACE
In everyday conversation and writing, the most simple grammatical rules are frequently broken. In this scheme, every effort has been made to help the pupil to understand these rules thoroughly, by means of examples.
It is important that the pupil should be able—
(1) To know why sentences are faulty.
(2) To correct them.
(3) To explain why the corrections are made.
The exercises on the lessons are varied, and have been made interesting. If they are attempted conscientiously, many of the most common faults in sentence construction will disappear.
