As an American mom married to a Dane, and a Danish psychotherapist, both raising families of our own, the question was both deeply personal and intellectually fascinating. Uncovering the answers led us on a journey into research findings, facts about Denmark and interviews with professionals in a wide range of fields. When the first draft was completed, we sent it out to an informal focus group of moms, dads, and experts across the United States and Europe.
