The Endocrine Function of The Human Adrenal Cortex [antikvár]

PREFACE This volume is a record of the papers presented at a Symposium which was held in Florence, in October 1977, on the "Endocrine Function of the Humán Adrenal Cortex", as one in a series which has included the Endocrine Function of the Humán Testis, and the Endocrine Function of the Humán Ovary. Like the previous Symposia, this one was generously sponsored by the Serono Foundation, and was held under the aegis of the Postgraduate School of Endocrinology of the University of Florence. It was the intention of the Organizing Committee to try to bring together a selection of speakers who would between them, provide a comprehensive picture of current views and research on adrenal cortical function, to give the reader an authoritative and up-to-date oversight into work in this field. We hope those who were unable to attend the Symposium will profit from an opportunity to read the papers presented, and we should like to thank the authors, many of whom have made fundamental contributions to our knowledge of the adrenal cortex and its disorders, for the time they have given up to the preparation of their chapters.
