Bryan Atkin (Pricing) is Director ofthe Office Products Division of Industrial Market Research Ltd. He joined the company as a graduate trainee, after studying at the London School of Economics, and was made a director in 1973. Mr Atkin created IMR's Travel Research Unit and more recently designed and launched a major syndicated survey programme on office equipment in Great Britain. In 1978 he was seconded to the Price Commission as Assistant Secretary which gave him a keen insight into the theory and practice of pricing. He is joint author, with R N Skinner, of How British Industry Prices (IMR, 1975).
Stephen Badger (Sources of Finance) is a Director of Morgan Grenfell & Co. Limited, where he advises companies on mergers, raising long-term capital and general financial problems. He joined Morgan Grenfell after leaving Oxford where he read Greats. Mr Badger is an Associate ofthe Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.
Peter Baily (Procurement Policy and Purchasing Procedures) is a Lecturer in Business Studies at the Polytechnic of Wales. He started off as a telecommunications mechanic and later worked in machine tool manufacturing and textile industries as buyer, materials controller, chief buyer and assistant to company secretary. Mr Baily has worked with the Business Education Council for several years as Board member, moderator and member of the Validating Committee and of several working parties. He is a member ofthe Education and Training Committee of the Institute of Purchasing and Supply. Author of several books and numerous articles, he has addressed conferences and contributed to courses in the USA, Ireland, Holland, Italy, Switzerland and the UK. He is co-author of Materials Management Handbook (Gower, 1982).
