THE BUDAPEST CONFERENCE OF INTERNATIONAL P. E. N.

MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

It was with satisfaction that the participants in the meeting of the Executive Committee noted that the relationship between International P.E.N. and COMES had improved and that General Secretary Mr. Dávid Carver was having direct talks with Signor Vigorelli, General Secretary of COMES. The Committee unanimously endorsed the international recognition of the newly established P.E.N. Centres of Luxembourg and of Ceylon and was pleased to hear the news of the formation of a Spanish Centre, too. When put to the vote, the proposition of the Austrian P.E.N. Centre to accept Germán as well as English and French as an official language for international conferences could not gain a majority.
