One long daylight ago there were two very fencible fleas. The younger was called Ferdinand, and the elder was named Frederick.Ferdinand was tall, dapper, diffident and easy-going. Frederick was greedy, short, tough andas you may guessproud.,Ferdinand wanted to call Frederick "Fred", but Frederick retorted: "I may be short, tough and brutishat timesbut I insist on being called Frederick, because if I let you get away with that you would certainly try to get away with anything. A flea must have respect. If a flea can't have respect from other fleas, then who can he expect to respect him?"Fedinand lounged by a grass blade and diffidently circled his sword through the air. "If I can't call you Fred, my dear Frederick, then how can we ever be friendly to each other? Frederick sounds so cold, and greedy, and tough."Frederick leaned on the next grass blade, and spun his sword back and forth over his
