ForewordWith this 1995 issue, the Council of The Siam Society welcomes Mr. PityaBunnag as Honorary Editor of the Journal of the Siam Society ("JSS") for1995-6.Also, the Council extends its sincere thanks to Mr. James V. Di Crocco, whohas tirelessly served as Honorary Editor for the JSS from 1988 through 1995(Volumes 78-82). Throughout these 8 years, he was responsible for editing9 issues of the JSS. A remarkable efforts and achievement beyond the levelThe Society can reasonably expect from any volunteer or Council Member.Throughout this period, the international scholarly reputation of the JSScontinued to grow and the JSS is on the acquisition list of over 100 universitiesand research libraries throughout the world.Regular readers will recognize some physical changes in this 1995 JSS issue.Among them, amove to a more standard size and a larger type size. Thesechanges, which take account of comments from readers and from librarysubscribers, are designed to bring the JSS into line with printing standardestablished by the International Standard Organization.
