FOREWORDSome of the concepts advanced in this book are of a completely revolutionary nature and the very opposite to those handed down to us bv the priests and the scientists. For thousands of years men have had persistently instilled into them the idea that the earth was the centre of the universe. The notion that there could possibly be a race outside the earth which might have a wisdom and technology superior to their own was thought both amoral and heretical.During the last thirteen years people all over the world have been seeing what are popularly termed 'flying saucers'. Thousands of men and women in every country, many of them trained observers, have spotted these strange craft, and reports of their out-of-this-world behaviour have been published in the world press, magazines and in over a hundred books. They have been photographed, filmed and tracked on radar screens. Governments have set up special projects to investigate this phenomenon.People everywhere are beginning to awaken to the idea that something is behind it all. Ideas themselves, however, are not negotiable. They are not transferable. One cannot put an idea into another mind. One can only awaken and, perhaps, draw out the ideas already there; ideas that have been covered up by blindness, forgetfulness or deliberate burial. This is education, from a Latin word meaning 'to lead out'^which rather goes to show the old Romans knew more about it than we do.
