Kindheit ist, trotz aller Umgestaltungen unseres modernen Alltags, noch immer ein Ort des Experimentierens, des Auf-die-Probe-Stellens. Nach wie vor richten sich Handeln und Sinnen der Kinder aufs Hier und Jetzt. Und im unermüdlichen Spiel mit den Möglichkeiten prägen sich Wünsche, Vorstellungskraft und Gestaltungsvermögen. Das Spielfeld bilden die Koordinaten des Alltags, die Regeln liegen quer: Wer gestern Gendarm, ist heute der Räuber. Kein Wunder, daß eben hier sich Theater mit Vorliebe selbst verortet. Es ist, mit Max Reinhard, "der seligste Schlupfwinkel für diejenigen, die ihre Kindheit heimlich in die Tasche gesteckt und sich damit auf und davon gemacht haben, um bis an ihr Lebensende weiterzuspielen." Für Theaterpädagogen und drama teacher stellt sich damit allerdings eine Aufgabe, die von einer Antinomie geprägt ist. Es gilt, einen Schlupfwinkel zugänglich zu machen, ohne auf seine besondere Qualität zu verzichten: Schlupfwinkel zu sein — abenteuerlich, geheimnisvoll und nur jenseits der ausgetretenen Pfade zu entdecken. Die Autorinnen und Autoren dieses Buches unternehmen den Versuch, ihre Wege dorthin aufzuzeigen. Zwischen den Polen Pädagogik und Ästhetik führen sie zu verschiedenen Beispielen des Theaters mit Kindern in Europa. Those who yesterday where cops, are today robbers. Not surprisingly it is precisely here, where theatre positions itself. It is, according to Max Reinhard, "the most blissful hiding place for those who have secretly slipped their childhood into their pockets and made off with it to continue playing until the end of their life". For theatre and drama teachers this presents a task characterized by an antinomy: It is necessary to make a hiding place accessible without giving up its special quality: to be a hiding place — adventurous, mysterious and to be discovered only when leaving the beaten path. The authors of this book attempt to demonstrate their path: Between education and aesthetics they present various examples of theatre with children in Europe.
