The past and the future; thousands of years old and hyper-iTiodern: Egypt and Dubai. When we decided to tal(e the readers of our new magazine to Arabia, we were imnnediately struck by the fascinating contrast between two worlds. The thousands of years of history and culture of Egypt take tourists back in time, while the slightly more than a hundred year-old Emirates opens up a vision of a future world that we can barely imagine and which points the direction for us, too. Dubai was founded by 800 members of the Bani Yas Bedouin tribe, who settled in the estuary of the River Creek, soon establishing it as a centre of pearl diving, fishing and maritime trade. Breaking away from British control, the United Arab Emirates became one country through the unification of seven separate emirates and it has since remained one of the most stable states in the region. Now looking ahead to the time after the oil has been exhausted, the people of the Emirates believe that their future lies in tourism. Idén nyitja meg kapuit a "Jövő Múzeuma", ahol a látogatók élvonalbeli szimulációk és interaktív demonstrációk segítségével "tapasztalhatják" meg a jövőt. 2020-ban pedig mindenki Dubaira szegezi majd a szemét, a World Expo ugyanis minden eddigi elképzelésünket felül fogja múlni. A Jövő tehát Dubaiban épül! Ahogy mi is elérkezettnek láttuk az időt, hogy a megújulás útjára lépjünk, így a megszokott izgalmas tartalommal, de modem, új külsővel várjuk régi és jövendőbeli Olvasóinkat. Enjoy our magaziné!
