Author's NoteThe 10,000-day war in Vietnam, and the batde for la Drang Valley, and the siege of the Plei Me Special Forces camp in 1965 really happened. The 7th Cav of the First Air Cavalry really existed. But there is some disagreement among armchair commandos and military archivists as to whether or not there ever really was an "Echo Company."Though the colorful Col. "Neil Nazi" Buchanan and many of "Brody's People" may remind readers and First Cav vets of soldiers they might have known in The Nam, this novel is a work of fiction. Other than well-known public and historic figures, any resemblance of its characters to persons living or Killed in Action is purely coincidental. The following chronological account involves that elusive tract of time missing between Chapters 26 and 27 in Chopper #1: Blood Jhzils.
