Ultrasound in Ophthalmology [antikvár]

Preface Mexico City was the site of the XIX SIDUO biennial meeting, I want to thank all the attending people that made possible this congress, also to all my organizing team, in particular to Dr. Cecilio F. Velasco who was the scientific committee president. We sincerely hope that all of you have had a good time in Mexico, not only because the scientific program but the social one that make possible that the SIDUO family join once again, to experience the friendship that characterize this group. Special thanks to Mrs. Carlota Moragrega and Mrs. Gisela Velasco for all the support in the social program. In this proceedings of the XIX SIDUO congress Mexico 2002, must of the papers presented were sent for publication but others only the abstract, as other congresses many authors prefer only to present their papers but not to write them for publication, I want to encourage them not only to present a paper but to leave constancy of their knowledge by writing all the manuscript, nevertheless the big effort to publish this proceedings as other previous proceedings was done and now we can put it in your hands, not only for the attending people to the meeting but for all the SIDUO members, because the executive committee decision of giving this book to all members. I want to thank Dr. Rogelio Herreman who help us with all the work of editing as well as managing of all the images, that is a huge effort. Thanks to Prof. Dr. Karl C. Ossoing for the Jules Francois Memorial Lecture and to the three invited lectures by Prof. Dr. Gerhard Hasenfratz our SIDUO president, Prof Dr. Nicola Rosa our SIDUO secretary, and Prof. Dr. Abelardo Rodriguez head of the Anatomo-pathology department of the Asociación Para Evitar la Ceguera en México. Finally I want to thank the support of my hospital, the Hospital "Luis Sanchez Bulnes" of the Asociación Para Evitar la Ceguera en México in the realization of the meeting and financial support for publishing this proceeding. Many of the papers presented, were about new technologies, interesting clinical cases, and research in many fields. I am positive about all SIDUO members will gladly receive this volume to have it in his library, because it shows the different fields covered by Ophthalmologists, Physicians, Physicists, and Technicians who regularly attend this meetings, and represent several countries with leadership in Ophthalmic Ultrasound.
