Singular Verb Forms: wohnen and heissen In Germán, as in English, verbs have endings. English verbs have only two endings, for example, go and goes. In the singular, that is when referring to only one person or thing, Germán verbs have three different endings: -e, -st, and -t. ending ich wohn -e du wohn -st er ^wohn -t Roger . ^.ie>wohn -t KristinIch wohne in Österreich. Du wohnst auch in Österreich. Er wohnt in der Schweiz. Sie wohnt in Deutschland./ //'ve in Austria. You live in Austria, too. He lives in Switzerland. She lives in Cermany. You use the ich-form when talking about yourself, the du-form when talking to someone else. You use the er- and sie-forms when talking about other people: er if it's a boy, sie if it's a girl. Because of the s-sound before the ending in the verb heissen, the du-form ends in -t, not -st: ich heisse, du heisst, er heisst, sie heisst. 21 To practice singular forms of the verbs "wohnen" and "heissen" FiII in the correct verb forms. wohnenheissen 1.er___1 2.Peter___ 3.du_t___ 4.Gabi___ 5.sie___ 6.ich___ UNSERE FREUNDE 3
