Magnes Lectures, which I delivered at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, in December 1954 and January 1955; a Hebrew translation with an English summary was published in lyyun, April 1955; the first lecture was published in Italian translation in II Politico, 1956, No. 2; a part of the essay was published in the Journal of Politics, August 1957. "Political Philosophy and History" was published in the Journal of the History of Ideas, January 1949.
