Preface to the Fourth Edition This is a practical book explaining how you can really succeed in the skill of writing assignments — essays, reports and dissertations. Each chapter covers a different stage of assignment writing. Each is illustrated with examples and mini case studies to show you the results of both good and bad practices. Summary checklists are included to help you, and each chapter ends with self-evaluation questions to ensure that you are on the right lines. My own students tell me that they have found the book very useful to them and certainly they are producing very good assignments!
