Bővebb ismertető
Greetings DEAR FRIENDCourtesy of Hungarian top athletes delegated by the 12C>-year.old Hungarian Olympic Committee, our country is one of the few to be able to boast of over 100 gold medals at Olympic Games. One of the secrets of elite athletes is playing out the competition in their minds before the final itself. Concentration is most effective wihen the athlete can relive the greatest number of emotions from his or her experiences associated w/ith an earlier best performance. The sprinter recalls images when he or she performed to the maximum during training. He or she hears once again the encouragement from the track side. He or she feels through the foot the unevenness of the track surface, senses in the nose that sweaty tang resulting from superhuman effort. Only in this way, through all the sensory organs, will the totally focused competitor be capable of giving his or her best. This album is designed to bring you closer to the capital of Hungary The book works with pictures, although they are capable of only partly getting across that feeling we call Budapest.I would encourage you to follow the example of the best athletes and experience - through all your senses - what this magical city is capable of giving. Take a deep breath on the boulevard and see, hear, touch and tasfe the city. In the meantime, find out about, or remind yourself of, the names of those Hungarian sportsmen and women who won international renown for Hungary and Budapest on so many occasions. You will find that Budapest is on the move. We are hard at work making the city the leading economic, tourism and sport centre of the region. Budapest is a sporting city: exercise is an everyday part of those who live here. More and more sports centres are going up, ever more people are using the jogging tracks, the public cycle network is highly popular and mass sporting events are everyday occurrences.Professional sportsmen and women, too, find a worthy host in Budapest. In 2013, we organized wrestling, fencing and division I ice hockey worid championships. In 2017, Budapest gives home to the World Aquatics Championships and the finest in judo will put their skills to the test here as well. The capital of Hungary has already proved that it is capable of organizing global competitions to a world standard. This sporting dynamism also permeates into urban developments: Ferenc Puskás Stadium is being renewed, the Dagály Swimming Arena is under construction, and parallel with this the transport network and infrastructure are being constantly expanded. It was nearly a century ago that Budapest last witnessed the number of development plans we see today Over the past five years the Hungarian capital has rocketed up the city rankings in a variety of protocol listings. We make no secret of the fact that we are preparing ourselves for a world-class performance: that we, Hungarians, should be the first among the countries of Central Europe to host the Olympic Games in 2024. We are standing, ready, on the start line, and at the critical moment we intend to give the very best we have to offer. We are working modestly, but steadfastly, in the hope that perhaps we will have the opportunity of proving what a worthy host our city can be for the greatest sporting event in the world.fVarm regards, ISIVÍNTARLÚS MAYOR DFBUDAPEST
